Shopping Cart

A shopping cart is usually an addon module incorporated within your site. However, sometimes the shopping cart may be in itself the entire site. Especially if you just want to present a catalog for clients to brows and purchase (See example here ).

If you intend to sell just a few products you may want to create a “Minisite” dedicated to each product separately. For payment collection incorporate one of the easy services mentioned in the chapter “Payment Collection”.  With those services you can create a “Pay Now” or “Order Now” button which you place in the appropriate place on your MiniSite.

However if you intend to sell many products and a variety of services, you need to incorporate a “Shopping Cart” in your site.

There are many companies that will host and maintain a shopping cart on their servers. Usually for a hefty monthly fee.
On the other hand there are free or cheap scripts available. These usually require some work to install and set up, but will save you a handsome bundle in the long run (ZenCart, AgoraCart & osCommerce to name a few).
